Guest guest
hello, the redness on my face is apparently autoimmune in nature and it affects my scalp as well. I have been diagnosed by different doctors with seb derm and psoriasis. I am currently in the process of signing up with the seb derm group right now. Here is my dilema to the knowledgeable rosaceans I have read about on this group. As mentioned I probably have either seb derm or psoriasis. Corticosteroids used to work but no longer do. I have had some success with treating with antifungal shampoos which help both my scalp and face a little bit. This improvement with antifungal treatment seems to implicate seb derm, however, here is the catch: I recall that when this all started I also had very heavy thick scale on my elbows. I learned that heavy scale on the elbows is a sign of psoriasis. It is no longer there for some reason, so I have been treating for seb derm. Even a scalp biopsy said it was seb derm. But those scaly elbows I used to have are haunting me. Does anyone know about the crossover between seb derm and psoriasis and what this might actually be? I think there was a post on here recently about misdiagnosis, I'm thinking I might be one of those people. Any advice would help. thanks, rob
