Guest guest
<<<... My fear??? That the weekend will arrive and things will not be improved and unable to contact my doc. He is never on call on weekends. If I need to go to ER over the weekend, an entirely different set of docs will be making decisions regarding my care, and I got into LOTS of trouble last time that happened.(Do hallucinations mean anything??) In order for me to get care from my doc, I will have to wait until Monday to get care from my doc. ARGGGGHHHHHH!!! Any thoughts anyone? Diane TN State Rep>>> Diane, Do you have copies of records from the treatment you received for the virus, and the ensuing visits to the pain clinic? Also, would your doctor write a standing order of procedure for you to have or send it to the ER? Also, I would be sure that if you have to go to ER you have a support person that can help in the decision process. Other than that we can hope and pray your pain lessens and you have a good weekend. It is amazing how long a virus can hang on, but they are nasty things. Take care and let us know how you do, Gail West, Indiana State Representative Pancreatitis Association International

Also, would your doctor write a standing order of procedure for you to have or send to the ER? Gail, Sorry its so long to respond, but its been quite a few months. Since the ER I go to is the same one that I stay at when needed, they always have the old records available and its been enough visits to the ER now that a lot of them are familiar with me. I have asked my doc previously if he would put some kind of note on my office chart, but not a standing order type thing. The ER doc usually makes his own decisions about how to treat and if that is unsuccessful, will call my doc or the doc on call. The only thing we have figured out so far is to go to ER if I have to (as much as I have to) without being admitted until my doc can be reached. Not a real good paln when you're in pain, but we couldn't come up with anything else. I don't think there is such a thing as a standing ER order. Thanks for the ideas though.
