Karyn,

I'm feel really guilty that I don't participate more with this group. My

intentions are good, but it's just been so very hard for me to sit at the

computer. Like many, I have multiple health issues and sometimes it's difficult

to know where one ends and the next begins. It's all I can do to read the

emails. Even then, I'm about 600 behind. I keep saying I'd love a laptop so I

could just sit in bed and email, but that's not in the cards any time soon.

The other reason for this email is that I just went to the database and saw you

had a cholecystectomy. I am scheduled for that procedure on December 3 and am

petrified. I was wondering if you could share your experience regarding that

surgery. I have Hep C and get annual ultrasounds. They are usually fine, but

this year they picked up gallstones. My doc feels I should go for the surgery so

they don't travel and cause worse pancreas problems. If all goes well it will be

done laproscopically, but naturally the surgeon can't guarantee it. My gastro

has also requested a liver biopsy be done during the procedure (my last biopsy

was 5 yrs ago). I think he is also having the surgeon check out the pancreas but

I'm not positive. I'll know more when I go for my pre-op clearance in 2 wks with

my gastro.

Anyway, I don't normally ask for things but with this group I hope it's ok.

Any light you can shed would be greatly appreciated. In fact, I'd love to hear

from ANYONE that has had their gall bladder removed.

Again, I'm sorry for not being much of a participant. My thoughts and prayers

are always there for each one. I probably should tell you that more often!!

Thank you all for being there.

Jill
