Guest guest
Hi Helen I'm new to this group as well but not to pancreatitis. I live in Adelaide SA...what about you. There is not much in the way of Aussie support groups available...Drop me a line if you want and I am happy to share what limited amounts of info for Aus that I have. :-) Take care Brett

From what I have read too, their seems to be a link between estrogens and pancreatitis, do you know of anyone else who may be able to support this? I take estrogen because I had my ovaries removed 4 years ago and of course I started to go through menopause at 34, I don't really want to stop taking them as the side effects of menopause are horrible. Its really abit of a tricky situation. but if there was a link wouldn't it show up sooner? are there any other ladies out there taking estrogens that have pancreatitis? Anyway, thanks for the welcome, any information that you might have about pancreatitis and estrogens would be most welcome. regards Helen G

Guest guest
Hi Helen! I do not know of a link offhand--I remeber looking at one that someone else provided that listed meds that can cause/aggravate pancreatitis--estrogens were listed there. Others here are so much better at finding info--sadly I am not one of them :-) So, does anyone else here have the site that listed those meds???? Also, my GI doctor told me this after I had heard about it here. And, yes, there are a few others here who believe their problems began with or are linked to estrogen. I see your problem in stopping estrogen because it is for hormone replacement...I do not know for sure how different that is from birth control. I like the convenience of birth control--i'm 26 and don't plan on a family any time soon, yet IF it is aggravating my pancreas and could even possibly be contributing to it then it's one more thing I will let go. And again, welcome here--it is a wonderful place! Kay > > Hi Helen, > > > > Welcome!
