Toronto Cooking SCD Course

We had a great turnout for the Toronto SCD Cooking Course preview.

Fourteen signed for the entire six week session and more are expected

to register in time for the first class. Many who attended brought

along another family member. People from last year who returned are

doing very well on SCD. Jodi, and I were pleased with the

enthusiasm and I think Loblaws will be too. Their coordinator has been

so supportive and offered each person who signed up for the whole

course a free coupon for another cooking class worth at least $30 as an

incentive.

We explained, the history and science of the diet, invited participants

to detail their experiences and diagnosis, We went over the menus, but

had to reserve many pertinent details for the actual classes because

the discussion was lively and prolonged.

Jodi brought along delicious " Sand Cookies " from the Grain-Free Gourmet

cookbook.

SCD has changed our lives. For me it usually means bouts of

sleeplessness LOL!

Those " Gut Friendly Gourmets " are back for the second season of " The Healing

Kitchen. "

Learn to prepare scrumptious foods that can help to heal intestinal disorders,

such as

Crohn's disease, ulcerative colitis, irritable bowel syndrome and celiac

disease. Recipes are

Can't say anything about Easter but on the whole (outside of legumes) the

diet is Passover-legal, and I may treat the rest of my family to some of

the goods I've been baking. (Trust me on this - potato starch is a lot

cheaper than almond flour, finely ground matzo maybe slightly so.) Take

I wish the classes were on Saturday! I'd drive every week from Michigan to

go to them. I go to Toronto a lot, but Thursday nights would be a bit

difficult :-)
