I am looking for information specifically on ocular rosacea. I was

having problems with my eyes feeling dry and/or " gritty " and it was

getting progressively worse. I finally ended up with pink eye and

went to see the doctor. I was given antibiotic eye drops and told to

see an opthamologist if it didn't start clearing in two days. The

pink eye cleared up, but the feeling of something in my eyes got

worse, so I was concerned. I went to an opthamologist, and he told

me that he thought he knew what the cause was and that he thought it

was cea. He told me that I should see a dermatologist. I saw

the dermatologist on April 3.

I have had problems with little bumps: itchy sometimes, sensitive to

touch sometimes, but not always; on my forehead, but didn't think I

was all that red. I also get little bumps under the scalp in the

back of my head (heat does seem to trigger that.) The worst of it is

correlated with PMS symptoms. I kept reading the info. on cea

and feeling it kinda sounds like it and kinda not. Anyway, I was on

Yasmin (a bc pill) for three months to try to regulate estrogen

levels, and it helped with some symptoms and made others worse. I

went off of it just recently, so I had some red bumps on my cheek,

but the side of my nose (and the forhead bumps) when I went in to see

the dermatologist, and he said that it did look like cea. He

discussed the topical lotion or the minocyclen. I would have leaned

more towards topical, but that wouldn't have helped with my eyes

any... my main complaint. So, he told me to try the minocyclen for a

month and see if it works and if not to go back to the opthamologist.

I have thought for some time that I might have Sjogren's, (because I

also have a dry mouth quite often.) When I mentioned the dry mouth

and eyes before, they always bring it up, but when I tell them that

I have the dry eyes and mouth, but then occasionally they will almost

go the opposite (eyes will water in extreme cold profusely) they drop

it.

Is it possible that I have both problems?

Anyway, still waiting to see how things will work. I only started

the minocyclen yesterday.
