Look forward wto > person with experience with the SCDiet to help commit here. I have a condition known as Multiple Chemical Sensitvities which struck me six years ago and six months before I started SCD. I met Elaine at a Potluck Luncheon for SCD followers in Toronto. As we chatted and I started to describe my " allergies " she bristled and said looking for many allergies was a " needle in the haystack " thing. I later realized the immune sytem, always on guard to protect us often perceives danger where none exists. In time I was able to separate sensitivities from true allergies. She was really a bear on this but held fast to avoiding any food that would give you toxic shock, avoiding that food forever. Hope this helps. Carol F. Guest guest
Hello All: These are all just different expressions of the same problems. We are loaded with chemicals, toxins and metals everywhere we go. Generally, the body keeps up and gets rid of them. For some people, through a combination of factors: diet, levels and kinds of toxins, and our patricular genetic predispositon we start expressing physically and mentally the toxic cycle. Malnutrition, bad bugs, less ability to detoxify, most of us live in or near a city, drive a car everyday, use hygiene products, soaps, detergents, fabrics that are loaded with toxins. We send things to the dry cleaners and conveniently pack things in plastic. many drink from bottled water, etc. so basically we keep adding to our toxic load everyday with everything we do. most toxins are at home. a carpet can offgas for up to 10 years! most people have linoleum (the newer kind) in their kitchens and bathrooms, and most people do not have a porcelain tub anymore. those things add up and if we do not periodically clean up inside, it keeps adding up until we start turning on those genes!!! and disease expresses in different ways depending in our particular predispositions. Basically, we need to clean up periodically, just like for our kids. It is the same thing!! Just people don't think that their arthritis, depression, fibromyalgia, weight gain and other problems are a product of the combination between toxic overload and bad gut! It all self feeds after that. I have lots of info on this topic, if anyone is interested email me. I also developed a very severe form of MCS as one of the problems I developed after delivery of my daughter Fiol. And we learned this the hard way. take care maria mom to fiol 15 mo ASD > > Dear Carol, and anybody else with experience, > > What you wrote below make since.
