Guest guest
Hi Everyone, I need a little help. I have not filed a 504 plan for my daughter 10 w/cf. I feel I now need to! My daughter misses quite a bit of school and is having a lot of difficulty keeping up. Her grades are a little low because of this. She is usually very tired after school and has a hard time keeping up with her studying. When she feels well her test scores are great but when she is tired they are not. The school has made a new rule that says any children with lower grades will not be able to participate in band and chorus. My daughter plays the flute and is in the chorus both of which she loves. They are also both great breathing exercises. I guess my question is: would any of you be willing to share your 504 plan with me? I would use it as a guide for a set-up for my daughter. I guess I should have done this sooner!!!! (dumb). Thank you, J.
Guest guest
Hi, I don't have one set up yet for my son but my other son who has neurofibromotosis and has had surgery on his leg has one to make accommodations for getting around and ways to make it easier for him with walking activities. Its quite easy to talk to the teacher and get one set up. I am glad to hear your daughter plays the flute. My son is in 5th grade and started the flute, I figured it was a good instrument to teach him to breath and use all the air in his lungs, my sister is a respiratory therapist and said it was a good choice. I hope he sticks with it, it was my flute and I haven't played in years but am enjoying getting back into it. Back to the 504 they will send home a paper to set up a meeting, bring as much info as possible on her health to put in their file. You can even bring people as an advocate on your side to the meeting, anything you feel important should be included. mom to 10 3/4 wcf and 9, and Zach 7. 504 Plan Hi Everyone, I need a little help.
