Guest guest
Dear Kimiber, WOW, that really scares me... Scares the bejesus outta' me! You think that persons with Pancreatic Cancer have probably HAD IT all ALONG??? I'm not doubting or belittling your intuition - that just scares the heck outta' me. Is that based, by any chance, on something that you've read or run across?? This is significant - I hope that you will be able to find the bit of research that lead you to this conclusion. That could be significantly life-altering for many of us on several levels. Time for some research, sister! Haha. Sorry to bug you with this, but since you said it, I want to READ this! This is a VERY big deal!! I realize that once someone is diagnosed with Panc. Cancer, life expectancy drops down the tube rather quickly and abruptly - that may add some credence to your theory - as in, " it's been there, undiagnosed for years, and now that we've found it, you may have little time to live " , but right now that just seems like some (extremely depressing) theory. I hope that it's not accurate, but if you've come across something to support that, I believe that is EXTREMELY important study/news for this group. Please, please... find your old notes, your old saved files, bookmarks, etc... This one really is worth spending some time on if you've run across it somewhere in the past. Thanks Kimber... I REALLY am looking forward to some of that research!! Thank you SO much. Peace, Terry in KC << Cyndie, people with chronic pancreatitis have a slightly higher chance(5 or 10%? I think? the articles I read were a while ago and I'll have to go through all my papers to find them) to get pancreatic cancer, but in most of the articles I've read, those who had this happen all smoked too. They don't know what it is about smoking that does this, just that it correllated to it somehow. Personally, I think those who do have pancreatic cancer after having pancreatitis have had it all along, it was just mis-diagnosed (there's a lovely little though isn't it?). Both are very hard to diagnose. Kinda a chicken or the egg deal. Don't know if this is of much help, but that's what I know. As soon as I have some extra time, I'll look through my articles to see if I can find them for you. Kimber >>
