I am sure that this is a basic question for most of you and maybe

even a sensitive one. If so, I appologise in advance.

What's on my mind...

If I visit a friend, who's child has cf and is positive for PA, will

I carry the PA home to my Granddaughter that also has cf?

Thanks,

Gale

I see on here alot of people asking about Pseudomonas being transfered to other

cf patients, at our hospital where my son goes when the kids enter the cf center

they must put on a mask so as not to transfer PA to each other and to wash hands

very carefully,I hear that some centers are not that strict on infection control

so each parent and child needs to make this a top priorty for themselves because

once you get it , it just seems to never go away and it is something you DONT

want. Make sure your cleaners you use in your home cover killing pseudomonas

some do some dont, if you can use one that does why not use that one? right

also HAND washing is so important

Re: Spreading PA

I had a sitter that volunteered at the hospital playroom and yes,

there were children there that had cf and pa. My docs at UNC Chapel

Hill asked me to have her change her clothes and shoes and wash hands

really well. They also said a shower would be great!!I just asked

her not to come on those evenings. This is one docs opinion.....hope

it helps.....Crystal, mother of 17monthswcf,mi
