Spreading PA

I am sure that this is a basic question for most of you and maybe

even a sensitive one. If so, I appologise in advance.

What's on my mind...

If I visit a friend, who's child has cf and is positive for PA, will

I carry the PA home to my Granddaughter that also has cf?

Thanks,

Gale

Hi,

when I have been together with pwcf I make sure to wash my hands

intensively and that's it. I don't see much of a risk through third-

person-infection.

And please don't apologize for basic questions. It's one of the most

important purposes of this list (at least in my opinion) to answer

basic questions. We have 10 to 20 new members every month who are

thankful when basic questions are asked and answered.

Peace

Torsten

I had a sitter that volunteered at the hospital playroom and yes,

there were children there that had cf and pa. My docs at UNC Chapel

Hill asked me to have her change her clothes and shoes and wash hands

really well. They also said a shower would be great!!I just asked

her not to come on those evenings. This is one docs opinion.....hope

it helps.....Crystal, mother of 17monthswcf,mi

Chrystal,

Thanks. I wouldn't be around Abby for several days after being with

my friend's son, so it sounds okay. I will ask Abby's doctor, just

to be sure.

Have a good weekend.

Hi Chrystal,

great!!<<

I wonder what the docs and nurses at UNC Chapel Hill do? Do they do all

those things they recommend for your baby-sitter when they walk from one

room to the other or do they think that Pseudomonas can only be transferred

by laypeople and that it makes a huge way around medical staff, LOL?
