Mammogram only if your doctor thinks you need one. 2. Physical and pap done within a year of surgery 3. Blood work and EKG within 30 days of surgery and take results to Durham with you, although some people have said they had this done at the hospital before surgery. Hope I've helped. Guest guest
I sent my patient information in yesterday... I gather from what I've read from your experiences that I should be getting some kind of confirmation of a letter to my insurance company soon from Dr. R's office? Can anyone let me know if that is right? I am going to stay on my insurance company, I have BC/BS, and they generally pay very well, but I had something that needed to be reviewed a few months ago, and I still don't have an answer on that. I called for several months, then just gave up, because they kept saying they hadn't received anything. I hope everything goes better with this! I continue to be amazed at how well all you post ops are doing. I did talk to one of the ladies who had to have a reversal, and it was scary, but I have to pray that nothing bad will happen to me. I guess there are risks in everything in life worth having, so I can't let it bother me. It's better to know ahead of time of the things that can happen, just in case. Take care, love and prayers to everyone, Debbie in IL

Guest guest
Pardon me for butting in on this one, but, I have a question. Which do they prefer? I would prefer having it done there, that way I know it's what they want, but, if Dr. R. wants it the other way I will do it. Memory ---------- From: furball2u@... You can have your PCP do your blood work & Ekg or you can have it done the morning of your surgery. Remember don't get it done too soon because it has to be within 30 days of your surgery. It is listed in your patients manuel what blood test are required. You are probably ok with your physical & pap test but you might want to e-mail Dr. R. and ask if 7 months is current enough. One other thing if your PCP does your ekg make sure it's the one with 12 leads. They will not accept the one with 2 or 4 so I heard. Hope this helps. Guest guest
You don't receive the letter from Dr. Rutledge's office for 2 - 3 weeks? I thought some other people had said they received a letter within a day or two of sending their info in... I am not good at waiting.... hope it doesn't take too long! Guest guest
I would recommend getting your bloodwork done before you go. That way, if anything is wrong that will prevent you from having the surgery, you won't be as disappointed as being denied the day before or of surgery. Same goes with the EKG. Guest guest
You should receive a letter (the same one sent to the insurance co) from Dr. Rutledge's office 2-3 weeks after you send your info in. I would check with your insurance co as soon as you get it to make sure they got it. CIGNA gave me the wrong fax number, and I made the mistake of waiting three weeks before I called and another two days before I was finally told the fax # was wrong. Keep on them!!! Guest guest
April, They will do a blood test and an EKG at the hospital prior to surgery.
