Guest guest
Hi Randy, I wanted to share with you a few things that we do for breakfast. We do crack and peels(hard boiled eggs prepared ahead of time), egg sheets(2 eggs, a little water, maybe a tea. beat and pour on a hot skillet. They cook really fast. This is like an omlet but thinner and faster.) Muffins made ahead of time. One of the bread recipes made ahead and put in big muffin tins. we then slice and toast it in our toaster oven. Pancakes(I make a big batch and keep the batter in the fridge. I make my own sausage in a big batch and cook it all up in the oven, freeze and pull out just what I need for breakfast. You can put it in a fry pan with a little water and cover. It can be heating while you are doing something else. I never used to take the time to do breakfast other than cold cerial or toast. I then realized the importance of getting my kids off to a good start with a balanced, more high protein breakfast, then we started SCD and the cold cerial and toast were out. Most of the things I have suggested takes about 5-10 min. to be ready to serve and my family loves them. I hope this helps you. If you want spacific recipies let me know. Sandy M. Whole family SCD for 9 + weeks in support of 5 yr old who rages. > > Welcome to the group Randy 'the Rainman', > > > Randy from Dallas here...we are starting the SCD diet (were only > > casein free previously and were going GF/CF but decided i liked the > > basis for the SCD 'caveman' diet more... > > > > I am a single dad who is recently divorced and my cooking (if you > can > > call it that) in the past was microwave-prepackaged land... > > > > I will be asking lots of questions as we start this thing for real > > now...so, here are my first few... > > > > 1) Looking for pre-made SNACK foods (something to replace the > pretzels > > and popcorn that she used to eat)...cost IS an issue, but i have so > > little time i wont be able to make meals AND snacks from scratch. > > Course, there are fruits, but i want stuff i can buy thats crunchy > if > > possible... > > There are some places that sell premade snack foods listed at > http://pecanbread.com/foodprep.html#ready (digestive wellness is > one. *But* if finances are a concern (as it is for most of us) > making snacks at home is far, far cheaper.
