Risk of passing on rosacea to your children

Hi all

I have seen this issue mentioned briefly now and again in peoples' e-mails

but never really discussed.

My dilemma is :-

I have had rosacea for the past 23 years (now 35) and I don't need to

mention the impact it has had on my life - we all know that one.

I was an adopted child (very unhappy adoption!!) and have always wanted to

have my own children.

I have been trying for children now for quite a few years and have this

" unexplained infertility " .

The doctors think I could be psychologically stopping myself from getting

pregnant due to the adoption issues related to my past.

But... I am wondering whether I could be holding myself back due to the fear

of passing on rosacea - (I have heard this can happen - women unconsciously

fearing what the child may look like).

I know this sounds crazy, but I am trying to look into it all so that I can

solve the mystery and was interested to hear from anyone who has had (i)

similar problems, (ii) from members who have had children and (iii) from

anyone who has the same fears about having children.

It is important for me to have children as I have never seen anyone related

to me, but I don't want to be selfish or irresponsible by passing the

rosacea on to them! WHAT A POSITION!!

Thanks to everyone.

.
