Guest guest
, It is my understanding that acidolphilus should not be taken within two hours of taking an antibiotic. What do you think? Guest guest
Panathonic acid is B5 and it is important in CF as is also B6, very important for good pancreas function. If on a diet high in calories, protein and saturated fats then B6 is majorly depleted and this in turn affects the pancreas function even more. B5 is important in adrenal function, when there is constant stress in the body of a disease the body becomes quickly deficient in nutrients and the adrenals are affected. Stress also brings about a continual destruction of proteins in the body. To protect the adrenals B5 and vit C and B2 are needed. A stressed body needs about70 times the normal amount of vit C to protect the adrenals, you can basically take as much as the body can handle, if you take excess it causes bad diarrhoea, but with CF this would probably be hard to know the difference. You can safely take 5000 mg per day, it is water soluble so it comes out in the urine. It is important to keep the bowel flora right as the body will then produce its own B vitamins in the intestine. If the B vitamins are not in the diet or are not produced effectively in the intestine the body produces histamine causing allergies and produce great amounts of ammonia in the blood, this can cause nausea, vomiting, decreased appetite and another manifestations. Since panathonic acid is responsible for cortisone production, low resistance to infections is the first sign of a undersupply of B5. If lacking in B5 or B6 there is a immediate reduction of antibodies and white blood cells. If stress has not harmed the adrenals then recovery is quick but if stress has been ongoing the recovery is slow from these deficiencies. Often the addition of B5 has corrected allergies, B6 and vit C are anti histamine effects Extra Information about nutrition: Using large amounts of oils in the diet increases the need for Vit E dramatically!!!!!! So you people who give your children fried foods and other oils to increase their calories probably need to increase Vit E. I often use Vit E capsules and Vit A capsules squeezed into a carrier oil and rub onto skin to get extra vitamins in without going through the digestive tract. If supplementing with Vit E you can take up to 1500 units per day Hope this helps mum to baby Liam 9 1/2 weeks and sooooooo cute Re: Re: alternatives In a message dated 11/6/2002 2:30:51 PM Central Standard Time, smoneill@... writes: > I have a question for you what is Pantothenic Acid?
