Guest guest
Hi gang: I am fed up with trying store-bought makeup. I never knew this, but you can actually purchase ingredients to make beauty products. I ordered some iron oxides to add to a zinc lotion that does not irritate my skin. Has anyone tried this? You can even order titanium dioxide. I ordered through The Ponte Vedra Soap Shoppe website. I will let you know how it goes. Guest guest
Hi Patty, I have tried this myself through another company. I ordered some yellow iron oxides to add to an untinted sunblock. Imagine my surprise when the yellow iron oxides turned out to be orange in color. It looked like powdered cheddar cheese. I tried adding a small amount to the sunblock and it didn't look very good. I hope that your homemade makeup turns out better than mine. Take care, Matija > > I'm trying to figure out, by looking at labels, which ingredients > > may be helpful and harmful in sunscreens and makeup. Guest guest
I got several colors: yellow, orange, red, brown, and titanium dioxide. The website shows photos of the colors: http://www.pvsoap.com/pigments.asp Looking at these colors, I can see why yours turned out like cheddar cheese I talked to them yesterday on the phone and got my order in just in time. From May 30th - June 9th they are closed for remodeling and revamping website I think. They said they would get my order out today, though. I was thinking of making a powder using talc, titanium dioxide, and my iron oxide colors. I would use it over my zinc cream.
