Guest guest
Hey all just wanted to let you know that I am 16 day post-op and doing great. I have lost 17 pounds and am going to start working out today. Before surgery I was 227 at some say 5'8 and some say 5''7. I went with the 5'7 to get approved by my insurance. I was wearing a size 18 so a lot think I wasn't big enough for the surgery but I've been a 22-24. I was starting having high blood pressure for the past 6 months and they were going to put me on meds and I also had severe Edema of the feet. legs and hands. IM only 38 and was getting afraid of what the next ten years would do to me. I started looking in to WLS about almost a year ago and was ready to fly to Mexico for the Lap Band when a Lady in town told me about Dr. R. I applied that day and within two weeks was approved by BCBS. The surgery went great. Dr. R said he by-passed less on me so I wouldn't loose to much so I'll probably loose slower. That's fine. I've had my blood pressure checked 3 times and it is so low that once they had a hard time getting a reading. I haven't swelled since the surgery, not even on our 11 hour drive home. I always swell after riding in the car. So point is that it's a miracle for sure. Being I just started in to my third week post-op I haven't tried much food except for my Yogurt and soups. Oatmeal is great and Bananas. I tried some mashed and gravy last night and it went down good. I only take a few small bites when I try something then wait an hour to see if it will stay down. So far I haven't gotten sick at all. Thank God. So that's about it for now. Congratulations everyone for you success stories they inspire us all. Love, from Florida
