Guest guest
Hi Susie, It's ok to be a little scared...this is major surgery. I don't know how to let you know just how confident I felt before surgery. I truly did not feel any fear. I had rectal surgery the end of January and I can honestly say I actually feared that surgery.....I even had a panic attack while they prepped me for surgery. But with the MGB I remained calm and I was not the least bit afraid. I was very content and at peace with my decision. I think the fact that I was educated by Dr.R's web-site and patient manual helped me tremendously. I also knew that my reasons for having the MGB surgery were valid and I felt good about taking the positive step toward a healthier, happier life. I watched both my parents die horrible deaths from diabetes and heart disease. I knew I was following in their footsteps and I didn't want to put my children through what I had to go through. I made this decision for my own good.......and I don't regret it. Susie, this is something you have to look deep into yourself for. If it's not right for you at this time then don't do it. If you honestly feel that the benefits far out weigh the risks then get your head on straight and do it. Keep a positive outlook and you will have better results. I told Dr. R before my surgery that I was not going to have any nicked nerves, bruising or excessive pain......and you know what...I didn't!!!!!!!!!!!! I forgot to mention I wouldn't have any allergic reactions to the meds and tape.....so, I did have some minor problems there...ha..ha.. My point is this.....you are the one that has to live in your body and you know what your co-morbidities are. If they are not acceptable to you then you know what your options are. Susie....do what is best for you...and remember it's ok to be a little scared. One thing you should never forget is that you will always have us to lean on regardless of your decision. We want you to be happy and healthy. Best Wishes, Genz " Susie G. " wrote: > Hi everyone > Ok I am getting a little scared. My date is July 12th so.....
