Guest guest
The National Center for Farmworker Health would like to announce the completion and availability of a bilingual comprehensive cancer curriculum, and breast and cervical cancer program and educational materials for farmworker women. The overall intent of the program is to increase breast and cervical cancer screening in your community. The program is entitled: Cultivando la Salud, and is funded by the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention. The breast and cervical cancer program contains a training curriculum for trainers, a program manual for program planners and/or people interested in implementing such a program, and a teaching guide, video, and flip chart for promotoras/health educators to use during their educational sessions in the community. The comprehensive cancer curriculum is a bilingual curriculum that contains a variety of cancer topics to educate the farmworker community on cancer prevention. All of these tools have been tested and are currently available through our resource center. If interested please contact the resource center for pricing and ordering information. -- Saavedra-Embesi, C.H.E.S Health Education Specialist National Comprehensive Cancer Program National Center for Farmworker Health, Inc. 1770 FM 967 Buda, Texas 78610 (512) 312-5458 (direct line) (512) 312-2700 (main line) (512) 312-2600 (fax) saavedra@... www.ncfh.org
Guest guest
, Thank you very much for sending out this notice. We in the Coastal Region of the Cancer Information Service, a program of the NCI, are very interested in seeing and possibly using some of the bilingual comprehensive cancer curricula, as well as the educational materials specifically for farmworker women. I will go ahead and order these resources, and may be calling you when I get them to discuss their application and utility among the Hispanic and farmworker populations in Florida, Puerto Rico and the USVI.
