Guest guest
At this point, I have the same few questions.... > 1) Would you do it again? Absolutely > 2)How quickly were you back to normal activity? I could have been back much sooner but my hormone pills made me very sick to my stomach. Once I quit taking them I returned to normal immediately. There is no down time with this surgery. Are you exercising? Riding my bike. > 3)When was your surgery and how much have you lost? Surgery was May 31. I will weigh on friday for the first time since clinic. At 6 days out (at clinic) I had lost 14 pounds. > 4)Any complications? None > 5)Any regrets? None, just wish I would have known about it sooner and had it done sooner. > 6)Any last minute advice? Make sure to take your Citrucel and your Carafate as directed. It is very, very important. Guest guest
HI: I had surgery on May 4th, 2000, lost 52lbs as of today's date. Yes I would do it again, Had surgery on Thursday discharged on Friday morning, got my nails don and went grocery shopping on Saturday, went back to work on Monday and put in a 45 hour work week - was very tired but went to bed early each evening. I have had a minor complication developed an ulcer but I have had a history of ulcers in the past. I weiged in @ 314lbs at clinic and I now weigh 262lbs. I have not begun excercising yet due to the ulcer have had a lot of nausea and I just have not felt up to exercising. Take your carafate as directed and make sure the pharmacy gives you liquid to avoid an ulcer. They are not a fun thing to have. Good luck to you and if I can help please give me a call 336/922-4860 home or email me. janice@... I have had no problems at all. I have lost nearly 30 lbs. I am waiting until 7/2/00 for my official weight loss. I have absolutely no regrets at all. I am 54 years old and wish I could have had this surgery years ago. Dr. R. is a great Dr. and you will feel at ease with him from the beginning!! Just relax, don't eat too much the night before surgery it will stretch your intestines and to quote the Good Dr. " you might not get as good of weight loss " . It's ok to be brief and succinct. You don't need to print responses and send them in. Debbie doesn't like a lot of extraneous paper. le
Guest guest
Hi, you probably have what you need by now,but if you don't-- go to the contact list on the clos.net web sight. Email 10 or 20 people. You will get almost immediate responses. Many contacts have thier post op responses all ready to go. You do not have to type the same questions 10 or twenty times. Do this. Bring up the contact list. Pick one . A Email window will open with your contacts email address in the right place. Type your subject in. Now do your little question thing. Go to edit . Click on select all, then go to edit again, hit copy. Now that email is in your computer. Send the email . Go back to your contact list. Pick another name. You will get a email screen like you just had but with another name on it. Type in your subject. hit tab so your cursor goes to the body of the screen. Go to edit hit paste. Your letter will appear. Send it. Do the same thing over and over until you feel you are done. I emailed every one on that list like this and got over 100responses. Many in the first few hours. Print out the ones you like and there are your contacts. Dr R likes you to give a general summary of what you learned from your contacts. Thats just a few paragraghs though and no problem.
