Guest guest
Hey there , First of all please let Jackie know we are with her in spirit, every step of the way just as you have been there for us. I know its difficult but first of all YOU have to take care of you as so you can take care of her. I know as a caregiver this is the hardest thing to do BUT it must be done, YOU are her strength. I am so very sorry it took me so long to get this post, I would of written sooner had I known, I just recieved your email this am too and am going to send this to your address so as if you dont get the post, but if you get this before I call, I will call you tonight Friday when I return from Brandans appt. in Boston today. Tell Jackie it is ok and just keep reassuring her that things will be fine, as hard as that is its what they need to hear, it sounds like the medication Jackie is on could be making her antsy or as you say it might be the way she is able to handle the pain. If she is not being kept comfortable by the demoral ask about dilaudid, Brandan was no longer able to take demerol because of the high dose he needed to take and also the fear of seizures after prolonged use. The dilaudid worked so much better and quicker it seemed, but everyone is different, as always its trial and error. BUT the ideas that she is now on fentanyl is a good thing. Brandan was on that for almost two years, it worked wonderful for him and I will be happy to answer any questions you have about it. They do take up to 72 hrs as Kimber said to fully reach thier potential and once worn can not just be stopped, but rather tapered down. Brandan finally stopped wearing them after his surgery in MN in August, and I have nothing but good feelings about them. BUT as bad as this attack is everything happens for a reason, and now they see what Jackie has been going through , NOW THEY KNOW SOMETHING IS TERRRIBLY wrong, now there is NO QUESTION. There is no question now what Jackie needs, and be sure to make sure when they release her they give you all the records and the reasons that she is in the hospital. This is what I have always meant by documentation is everything. I as always am here anytime you need, I will call you tonight, I hope this finds Jackie having a better day. Please let her know we are as always thinking of her and that as always you and yours are in our thoughts and prayers. WE WILL TALK SOON...as always Keep smiling ( cuz sometimes its all one can do!)
