The intro diet was designed to be very easy to digest and fat (grease) is more difficult to digest. > I buy sides of > beef and pork from a local farmer. Not much I know. The intro should only be done for a maximum of 5 days and for those who aren't suffering from diarrhea 2-3 days is fine. You don't *have* to do the intro, but it does help kick start clearing out the " nasties " . There are intro recipe ideas at http://www.pecanbread.com/foodprep.html#intro After the intro you can make homemade BBQ sauce with the ketchup recipe in BTVC, some vinegar and a little extra honey. Here a BBQ sauce recipe: http://www.scdrecipe.com/recipes/r_040_00315.php Recipes for after the intro: http://www.pecanbread.com/recipes.html http://www.scdrecipe.com/recipes.html > My kids are both currently on antifungals and antibiotics for yeast and > bacteria overgrowth per OAT tests. The intro diet is followed for such a short time. if possible adhere to it as written. After you will be able to make delicious home made ketchup and add spices to make it BBQ style. You will also be able to add the sugar free bacon. Pork is not on the intro. You might have a cranky hungry kid, at first but all will likely improve once you are over the hump Carol F.
