Guest guest
I realize that what I am about to say might cause some great debate, but here goes. I have just had my first Vbeam treatment and I am very pleased. I waited a long time and did a lot of research about photoderm/pulse dye versus Vbeam, and I really recommend more people look into the Vbeam more seriously. I can not tell you how many accounts of negative photoderm results I have read within this support group. The Vbeam has been used on infants as young as a few weeks old. It has virtually no side effects, it has no down time, no prep and it is a lot cheaper than photoderm/pulse dyes. I am no expert and I am sure there are people that have not been completely happy with their results. The thing I find most compelling is that there seems so little risk involved, so even if it does not eradicate a persons condition, it will most likely not worsen it. I think that we all need to do what we think is best and it is soooo obvious that there is no ONE thing we can all do that will help us the way we want, but I urge people to look into the newer laser treatments that have become available. Dr. Nase has only good things to say about the Vbeam. It is no cure and it will require me to come in continually for maintenance, but they offer a little bit of a break in cost and some insurance co.'s will cover it, if the doctor involved will attempt to help you. Furthermore, there are many more doctors with the Vbeam than the photoderm. Again, I urge you all to look deeper into the newer treatments available. They are getting closer and closer to perfecting it, lets all hope that some day they do! I have a severe case, I can have a whole face of pustules to the point that I look like a leper, so I know more than most how debilitating this can be. I am extremely hopeful and I notice a difference already, in fact it helped to prevent a breakout. If you are in the support group I urge you to post the possible cures you may encounter rather than leaving the group once you find something that works. I don't know where I would be if this support group did not exist. Peace - Kern

As someone who had 11 photofacials and now 1 v beam I wish I had tried V beam first. My plan in the beginning was to have 6 photoderms. But after 10, with only minimal improvement and a lot of flushing, inflammation, breakouts it was getting to be too much. It costs alot of money also. It has helped with flushing, about 40 percent, so I am glad I did it, but I think if I started with V beam I would have saved a lot of money. All I kept hearing is that it will work, you may just need a little more than most people. Well, after 1 v beam, only 2 weeks ago, my improvement is better than 10 photoderms. The redness has really dissipated, the burning is almost completely gone, I had increased sensitivity with photoderm and could not even use Zinco during the treatments. Now there is not the sensitivity as before. And even though they say with photoderm there is no down time, I have to disagree. With photoderm you can't exerise, and you flush at the littlest things. I couldn't exercise at all. I couldn't even walk my dog slowly in the evening. With V beam you have swelling and increased redness for a few days to a week, but so far the redness with photoderm has been worse. I wouldn't say don't do photoderm, because it has helped many people, but I would say it wouldn't hurt to look into V beam. Guest guest
Matt, where do you live. If you are within driving distance to Atlanta GA, I can recommend someone who is good.
