Guest guest
Hi All, Today wasn't the best food day for Ms. Claire. I tried Taco Bell for the first time since long before surgery. Had their 49 cent Nacho Supreme (cheap date lol). They tasted a bit greasy but okay going down. But I wasn't home for 20 minutes before they came right back up. Yuck! Earlier we went out for lunch with my Stepkids to Cracker Barrel. I ordered a pork chop, hashbrown casserole, cottage cheese, corn bread and hot chocolate. Well, the pork chop was great. ate my cottage cheese and after looking at my hashbrown casserole I wasn't interested in it. I really enjoyed my cornbread and hot chocolate, but apparently the feeling wasn't mutual. We did'nt get out of the restaurant before those two came up. I know this is a gross subject, but since " barfing " sort of seems the subject of the week (hee hee) I thought I'd share (sorry...) Maybe this will be helpful to some of the preops at any rate. For me, throwing up post surgery is not at all like throwing up pre surgery. It has always been the worst feeling in the world to me, but generally speaking it doesn't involve the same retching that it did pre-surgery. Now, I may be the only postop with this experience, but there definitely is a difference. Since surgery, if I eat too much I generally just throw that up and then feel fine. If I eat something that my tummy doesn't like (like the hot chocolate and corn bread mixed) only that comes up, but everything else stays. It's so weird. I had hot chocolate on our day cruse in Alaska and had no problem with it. Since then I've tried several times to have it with something else and got sick every time. Very weird. With all that said, I'll continue experimenting when something seems appealing and hope for the best. Generally speaking most foods I've tried sit quite well with me, so I count myself as blessed. Sorry for such a gross topic. Someone tell me it helped them okay? Yeah, even if you have to lie to me okay? < > {{HUGS}} Claire MGB 4/10/00 300/264 15.25 inches lost forever!!
