OT: Cast iron pans

Hi and everybody else who uses cast iron pans.

I have one tiny cast iron (size for 1 fried egg) and would buy some more

but first I have a question.

After using it, I was told to wash or scrub it but not to use soap, then

to dry it with a cloth (and even heating it on a burner or in the oven to

make sure that it is dry so that it won't rust) and then coat with a

light coating of oil to season it. I got that. What I don't understand

is if I buy another cast iron pan and then do the same, it looks like I

can not stack them in the cupboard. If I stack them, the smaller one

would get oil on the bottom of it from being stacked inside the bigger

one. This oil would then burn on my burner.

How do you do it? Do you skip the step of putting a light coat of oil on

it to season it?

You can use a cast iron pan. Follow the instructions for seasoning

the pan and in time, you can fry eggs with very little oil. I've had

mine for years so they are all well seasoned from frying in oil.
