Guest guest
> what I'm wanting to know is has anyone on here had pancreatitis when they was pregnant and it go away then they went on to have another baby and it was fine. Thank's Angie,Fl. Sorry to be discouraging, but .............. My daughter developed pancreatitis in her seventh month of pregnancy with child #1. Three months after delivery, she had her gallbladder removed & was told by her GI doctor, obstetrician & surgeon that she would have no further problems. She developed pancreatitis in her seventh month of pregnancy with child #2. When not pregnant, she has no problems with pancreatitis no matter what she eats. My slow-learner of a daughter is now pregnant with child #3 and was told by the GI doctor & the obstetrician that there is no reason to suspect that she would again have problems with pancreatitis. She is just starting her seventh month of pregnancy & just spent 2 weeks in the hospital with - you guessed it - pancreatitis. I don't know if it is the hormonal changes or the large uterus pressing on the internal organs (stomach, pancreas, liver, etc), but obviously pregnancy is not a good thing to her pancreas. I don't know why the doctors were surprised when my daughter developed pancreatitis again. But, then again, these same doctors continue to deny that ERCP's frequently cause pancreatitis. Sometimes I think that doctors must surrender their common sense before they are allowed to graduate from medical school. jang
