I worked for an ENT and he was some patients primary doctor.

I also know others that use their GYN for their PCP. If this is an

AGREEMENT between you and your specialist I would have the specialist

write that in his support letter. Also your medical records(that you

had to get copies of) should PROVE that doc as your PCP and no other .

There may be ANOTHER reason Dr R wants a reguluar " doctor " to follow

you post op. While it is true that some Primary care physicians MAY

be more familiar with the types of conscerns/preventative measures

affecting gastric post op patients,I would NOt bet on it. Our needs

are individual. Best to go to the doctor that KNOWS you. If that is a

specialist then so be it. Besides I feel the person that YOU most

feel comfortable and confident with and is willing to take on

this " job " should be the person to follow you up..........and may be

alot more excited and willing to do so versus some regular " docs " .

Now I am not trying to slam " regular docs " there are some wonderful

ones. Although there are some that truely will not take the time to

read the materials or do not show much interest. DR R are you

listening or are you on a picnic today????(I hope it's the latter)
