Guest guest
Thanks for posting this information, CL. I've been interested in the skinbiology products, but have been on the fence about them. I know some of their products have retinol in them, so that may have caused some of the breakouts. I don't know what in them caused the extra oiliness. About his credentials, I believe he was affiliated in some capacity with the University of California at San Francisco (UCSF) Medical School. This med school is among the top five in the US if that helps. I don't have a science background so I don't know if topical copper products would harm blood vessels with continued use. Is it supposed to exfoliate and build collagen? It's too bad Dr. Nase has such a long recuperation period, because I think he would know. As a reminder too, many doctors with great credentials in dermatology may not have indepth knowledge of rosacea. Take care, Matija > > has anyone used products available from > > www.skinbio.com > > as they appear to have an outstanding website. > > > > > > __________________________________________________ >

Guest guest
I think the message below was meant for the group too. thanks, Matija From: MARF995@... Date: Fri, 22 Feb 2002 13:50:20 EST Matija, FYI -- a couple of years ago I tried the SkinBiology Protect and Restore cream -- the mildest of the formulations, #2 I believe -- and I ended up with an incredibly bad burning flare that lasted for about 3 weeks. I have since read that copper, although definitely beneficial for most skin types, has some potentially inflammatory properties. If you decide to try a copper peptide preparation, I recommend trying a small patch test for a few weeks before risling your whole face. I did use the remaining bottle of Protect and Restore in my hands, and I very much liked the result there! Anne

Guest guest
Hi all, I tried the P&R #2 (the one w/o retinol), but I think it contained mieral oil or what they called " lipids " --either way, something made me break out...the CP Serum doesnt have either...(I'm on the fence about the product, too; and i worry now about everything I put on my face may be ok to begin with but maybe cause other long term effects)...I also used the rest of the samples of lotion my face couldnt tolerate on my hands---it worked great! just a note though---most/all of those P&R lotions suggest using it in conjunction with glycolic acid. I think we all know not to do this... -CL --- ruizdelvizo ruizdelvizo@...> wrote: > I think the message below was meant for the group > too. > > thanks, > Matija > > > From: MARF995@... > > Date: Fri, 22 Feb 2002 13:50:20 EST > > > Matija, FYI -- a couple of years ago I tried the > SkinBiology Protect > and Restore cream -- the mildest of the > formulations, #2 I believe -- > and I ended up with an incredibly bad burning flare > that lasted for > about 3 weeks. Guest guest
Funny you should ask... I've been using the CP Serum for about three weeks or a month now. I don't actively flush much any more (NOT because of the serum, but because of dietary controls), but I'm still plagued by red marks (scars) left by breakouts. I hoped a copper peptide product might help with that... I've found that my skin seems to be healing more quickly, but breaking out more often. Also, I have blackheads for the first time in my life, which I attribute to the sticky film-like quality of the serum. It was the only product from Skinbiology I've tried (except for a body oil, which is fine...). I had been using Renova to lighten the red marks (definitely NOT recommended for rosacea, but since mine appeared to have its roots in an allergic reaction, it doesn't seem to bother me). The CP Serum didn't cause any noticable exfoliation and appeared to clog my pores. the Renova worked better, in the long run. I'm also going to try another prescription " brightening " cream on the red marks. I realize this is a slightly different issue than many on this site are dealing with, but my results with the CP Serum seem relevant. Since my skin has looked worse than usual, I actually abandoned it this morning, and I'll see if my skin improves in the next few days and let you know.
