Guest guest
Hi Lanna (and ), I want to point out again that SCD is NOT a HIGH protein diet. What foods you choose to eat from the allowed foods is a personal choice. If you feed your child a lot of meat and eggs, it will be high protein. If you choose to feed your child a lot of fruits and veggies, the diet will not be high in protein. How SCD is implemented is up to the person who makes the decision about what to eat. SCD is NOT inherantly a high protein diet. I have been corresponding with Dr. Yasko to find out more about her dietary recommendations. She is not opposed to SCD as a diet, but she recommends low protein diets for CERTAIN children that she has done testing on. She does not have a one-size-fits-all plan for how much protein a child should eat. Jody mom to -7 and -9 SCD 1/

Guest guest
Jody, Thanks for once again pointing out the SCD is not a high protein diet. However, for my daughter, she does not tolerate most of the vegetables and fruits I have introduced. Spinach -- gave extreme gas banana -- gave gas and reduced responsiveness butternut squash -- rash avocado -- rash cauliflower -- extreme gas apple -- not sure but she was very tantrummy carrot -- appear in her poop green beans -- appear in her poop and gave rash Thus she has been on SCD for almost 60 days now and her entire repertoire of food is still only chicken, pork, zucchini and pear. And she is hungry all the time. How do I feed a child like this and keep her satisfied without giving her too much protein? Currently, she's already eating more than 4 zucchinis each day and about tonnes of pear sauce. All suggestion will be very much appreciated. > > Hi Lanna (and ), > > > I want to point out again that SCD is NOT a HIGH protein diet.
