Any feedback???? How long have you been doing the diet? Is your son ASD, ADHD etc.? It helps if you sign your emails with this info. You could ask the pharmacist what fillers did he/she used? How were stools preSCD? How are they since starting the Nystatin? Have you tried epsom salt baths or/and activated charcoal - they often help with die off symptoms. Any other supplemnts/meds/chelating? Sheila, SCD 61 mos, UC 22 yrs mom of Em and
Guest guest
Hi Toni, > Matteo is 4 and has always had hard stools and had a bowel movement every other day before starting SCD,We started the SCD in Oct of 2005.We skipped the intro because he is such a picky eater. We saw hyperactivity increase the first fiew days as well as green coloured stools. He began to have a BM every day with minimul hard formed stools mixed in with some good formed stools. He became less hyperactive and good things started to happen.About the last week in January of 2006 he started to have increased stomch pain and stools became softer and softer more on the pudding texture. Along with theBM change we saw regression in behaviours but not in cognitive gains. He started the nystatin second week of March. He is still making gains in language but the behaviours have not decreased. His Bm are still soft and evry third day or second day.He also started probiotics a fiew days after starting the nystatin. This is what he is eating , Apples, almonf flour pancakes, meats and eggs. Some of the problem sounds like die off. Epsom salt baths and/or activated charcoal may help. >Just water to drink.( should he be drinking a specific type of water ie. destilled " we currently have a Brita) From a SCD standpoint, Brita water is fine. > Apples by the way are either grammy smith or golden delicious peeled and seeded. Have you considered phenol problems (behaviour wise) are possible? When did you start the apples? He may be having some trouble with the raw. Did you start anything new about the time that the stomach aches started (end of January or a week or so before that)? Sheila I am trying to learn as much as I can from reading and I am sure that there maybe something I am missing. My son gives me a hard time just giving him his meds.He is a picky eater and thats gotten worse since he started to regress. Thanks TONI mom to Matteo 4 yrs scd since Oct 2005 Sheila, SCD 61 mos, UC 22yrs mom of and
