Guest guest
Dear Molly we had same issues too at the begginng, intermittent good poops on SCD (especially if food was not pureed, he would have mushy stools with lots of strands in it) and then we did the Great Plans Lab Microbial OAT urine lab and he showed c.difficile and yeast overgrowth after hesitating the use of drugs for a looooong time I finally gave in and let him have compounded (no sugar but has stevioside sweetener, thus SCD legal) metronidazole to kill clostridia and fluconazole to kill yeast and VIOLA!!!! (after 1-2 days of terrible slurry poops) he had beautifully formed poops daily! I imagine that those drugs address c.difficile and also fluconazole brought down the yeast to a good level that is currently kept under controlled with SCD good luck Jzin Teng > > Is this typical? Guest guest
Well...he did start with the intro. diet and we progressed slowly to stage 1 and then to stage 2 foods with all fruits/veggies cooked and deseeded. But after about 6 months I did stop cooking the fruit. He has gone through phases with food. But this is his main rotation of foods: green beans, squash, carrots, pears, apples, bananas, yogurt, pancakes, eggs, SCD bread, and some baked goods (not much though since he is not big on them), peanut or almond butter and honey in his yogurt and on his pancakes. As for supplements, which as far as I know are all SCD legal, he takes a Kirkman multivitamin and mineral supp., Kirkman lemon/lime CLO, Kirkman probiotic (Lacto./Acidopholus), mb12, and Houstons SCD legal enzymes. Thanks for your help, molly > > Hi Molly, > > > Is this typical? I have had my son on the SCD (very strictly) for 7 > > months and he still does not have solid poops. After you stopped cooking the fruit did you notice much/or any change in his stool? How soon after the intro did you introduce nuts/nut butters etc.? Have you had any stool tests done?
