Guest guest
Lanna, Thanks for the message. My daughter's OAT result just came back and it showed that her Amonia is high. How do I do an Amino Acid Test? > > > and problems with SCD > > > Hi , > My daughter has done extremely well on the diet. She did have some bacterial die off at first, which caused some regression, but then her stools turned brown for the first time in her life! > But on the other hand, my friend's son could not tolerate the SCD diet because of the high protein. His body makes alot of amonia- have you ever smelled amonia in her urine? Or shown high amonia on an amino acids test? If so, then a high protein diet may not be the best for your child, because your child's body will turn the protein into amonia, which is very detrimental to your child. Dr. Yasko recommends a low protein diet for kids with amonia problems, you can read about this on her site: www.autismanswer.com or www.holistichealth.com > Best wishes for a full recovery for your daughter, > Lanna > > >
