Guest guest
Hi, gang! Got home yesterday. I was really wiped out from the plane trip, but managed a trip to Meijers and the cemetery to put flowers on a friend's grave. I just resigned on to the group, so I hope I didn't miss a lot. No problems with the surgery. In fact, I was the longest of the day...32 minutes. The nurses and Dr R, of course, were fantastic. If I needed anything, they were right there. I got a pump for pain med and didn't even have to ask for it. I only used it after I walked the halls. Dozed off and on all day and night. Discharged Thursday. Ron (Gloria's husband) drove us to Wal-Mart to get our prescriptions filled. First we were ignored, then were told they fill " those prescriptions " While leaving to go to another pharmacy, we got caught in a terrible storm. Ron's yelling at us to run, like we could. I tried, before I remembered not a good idea. Then the wind blew the door into my stomach and boy, did I hurt for awhile. We found Upchurch Pharmacy, which had everything we needed. It took awhile, because the power went out while we were waitng. I enjoyed Duke Towers. It had an inside courtyard that was great for walking around. Friday morining I was in pain, but after a few turns around the courtyard, it went away. It's true what they say...you need to walk. Ron and Gloria became part of my family while I was there. Gloria had to be at the hospital at 6, and I didn't go until 9, so Ron came back and got me. I heard he got some lip from some of the nurses for being a bigamist, but they were both the greatest!!! I know I made friends for life. I'm sore, but I guess that goes with the territory. I know that if I had gone with the RNY that I wouldn't be able to do near the things I have done already. Plus, only five little holes. I'm planning to go back to work Tuesday after my doctor takes out my staples. My husband says he can do it, but I think I will just let the doctor do it. I didn't get my prescription for Actigall filled in NC, so this way he can write me a prescription. Even though I had no family with me, I never felt alone. I felt the prayers you all sent, and all my littermates were great. I got to talk with every one of them. Well, enough for now.
