Guest guest
Hi, I stopped my Noritate for three days(was trying to go off completely), to see what would happen this week... I have rosacea symptoms on my nose bridge mainly(stays pinkish, with some capillaries showing), cheeks tend to stay pinkish and dont really flare. Usually apply small amounts of Noritate before bed and in the morning. Before using Noritate I was sparingly using cortisone(wasn't told of the nasty side effects, read about that in this group!) After stopping Noritate my nose went very dark red, burned/itched like crazy, got very dry and flakey, then starting oozing clear liquid. All I did was basically wash with cetaphil at night and nothing else. I would say that sounds like progressive rosacea to me... very angry and sad about the whole thing. Those symptoms all happened within 3 days, from a lightly pinkish nose. Has anyone else experienced this or tried to go off topicals like this? The oozing pustules formed a circle(shaped like a cheerio) like you would see some types of bacteria grow in a petri dish. So I started up with the Noritate again today, and the icthy/buring stopped right away! I am going to look at photoderm treatments. Thanks to the post about the pre-rosacea from the Galderma site: But I >have a question?? > > >Without treatment, prerosacea (early rosacea) progresses >through the >three stages of rosacea and eventually may >lead to severe facial >disfigurement. > >How do you treat pre-rosacea. the topicals are for the pimples only or do >the topicals help prevent the rosacea from advancing. >If so I am in big big trouble I was diagnosed 12-13 years ago and I have >not used any topicals for longer than a few days, I might have held out for >a week?? I still don't have any pimples. OMG, what is in store for me.
