Trying to help my husband...

Hi everyone. I need help.

My husband was diagnosed last month and has his first follow-up next

week. He has had very little luck with metronidozol, noritate,

metrogel or plexion. He has a cluster are or redness and capilaries

on the tip of his nose, and very little else that is of concern. He

is overly critical of all the medication, sometimes seeing every side

effect listed on the tube, and has not really given anything a chance

to work too well, but I understand his concern. My questions:

1. Could he have actually caused this to happen by over application

of sunscreens and lotions containing alcohol? He did see some relief

when he quit those, but nothing major.

2. Have any of you had initial redness with the cremes, then seen an

improvement? I want to tell him to stick with it, but i don't want to

see it worsen the problem.

3. Does the laser treatment work to remove the capilaries? he is

scheduled for early May

I am trying to gather information for the derm appointment next week

cause he is really depressed and I want to do all I can. The derm is

wonderful, but he only hears the negative rightnow. I have to take

control!
