The result of the fermentation of grain just produes the alcohol and no starch or gluten provided it is hard liquor, not brandy or cordials and if wine has zero sugar content or what we know as very dry wines. In Canada wines are rated for degree of sweetness and there are many, many zero wines from all over the world to enjoy. If desired a little honey or saccharine can be added for sweetnss. Carol F. Guest guest
What are the brands of some wine that you buy? I went to Whole Foods and couldn't find anything about zero sugar content. I don't buy from the wine shop nect to Whole Foods, mostly at the LCBO. i just tried a wine from South Africa, " Two Oceans. It's cheap, $9.95 They have a red and a white. I added one saccharine tablet and some water to a glass and found it pleasant. For a splurge, i go with 7 tate St. margaret River from Australia but it is expensive and only for a special occasion like my 75th birthday next month. The stores are just loaded with zero sugar wines both white and red. don't get too fond of wine as it could relax your willingness to avoid illegal food :-) Carol F. Guest guest
Hi Dina, > What are the brands of some wine that you buy? My favourite is Mouton Cadet (Rothschild). If you know some names you can check out their " sugar content " at http://www.nbliquor.com/prod-search.asp or you can print out a list of wines to take with you. You want wines with a sugar content of " 00 " at this site. Sheila, SCD 59 mos, 22 yrs UC mom of and I went to Whole Foods and > couldn't find anything about zero sugar content.
