Guest guest
Hi Group, Just a quick update since my derm. took me off Noritate and Tetracycline and put me on Klaron and Doxycycline--my bumps and papules went away quickly...clear within 3 days. Which makes me wonder if going off the Noritate is what cleared me up? I thought Klaron took some time to work, but I really don't know if that's the case too with Doxycyline. My skin has been smooth--its been about 4 weeks now. (I was afraid to post sooner--fear of the jinx factor.) I still have red, blotchy cheeks though--bridge of nose too. This is much easier to deal with than all the bumps! A couple of questions: I go back to the derm next month. At that time, should I discuss going off the doxycyline? Is there a good method to use to taper off the antiobiotics rather than just stop? I'm also on the pill (Lo-Ovral) which being on antibiotics decreases the effectiveness, so I'd like to at some point, go off the doxycycline. Also my skin in sun sensitive just being the the pill, so the doxy. is double sun trouble for me! Any ideas? One more question - pursuing pulsed dye treatments for cheeks and nose--can I have these treatments while I'm taking doxycyline? (I read the past post about photoderm and doxy. and it made me wonder....) Many thanks for all your help and support. I was skeptical about using the Klaron, but kept the faith in my doc (and great feedback from you folks) and so far it's OK. Perhaps I just can't use the metros? Funny thing is neither Metrocream nor the Noritate stung or made me feel I couldn't tolerate them, I just was breaking out more and more and my pores seemed to be expanding! One more thing, been using the Aveeno Creamy Baby Cleanser since just before I switched the meds. I like it--it's not great for removing mascara though. I was using Lynda Sy bar for comb. skin, and also Neutrogena Foaming Cleanser for Sensitive Skin, and like the Aveeno the best of these 3. Thanks for all your help in the past! I appreciate your input! Michele __________________________________________________
