Guest guest
Hey there, I am not sure to start, but I guess first I will agree with Lorrie from Pittsburgh about Dr. Sutherland, all she said and more is true, although everyone has to remember this is one man, he is doing the best he can and I have to add I have told him he has become an angel to many, many who dont even know him, and I told him and Anne-Marie Papas to expect to hear alot from this group of fine people as the word gets out about what he is doing for people who suffer with this disease. I also left the information about our group with Anne-Marie and also at the Mc House, for anyone whom is looking for answers or perhaps just someone who can understand. I met a family today from California who is here looking into the surgery for thier young daughter and have passed along the word of who the PAI is and what we are doing. OUR VOICES ARE GETTING LOUDER..... I am sorry I havent updated you all earlier, but Brandan was released from the hospital on friday day 18 after his surgery, EVERYONE from the Doctors to the nurses to all the staff were indeed wonderful to us, it truly was bittersweet leaving the hospital for we had made some truly wonderful friends. I met lorrie and Jim and I am hoping to see them tomorrow if they are still there. Brandan and I are staying at the Mc House here in MN. Brandans pain everyday is getting less and less, he is eating more and more, but its going to take some time, we saw Dr. Sutherland today in the clinic at the hospital and he gives us the ok to travel home. What people have to realize with this surgery is it is a new frontier, like most things its a day at a time. Brandan like Jim is having alot of incisional pain, but as the days go by he seems to be doing a little better everyday. His back is also giving him a little bit of problems but it could still be from his spleen. They did not remove it, because Dr. Sutherland said it looked good. But our hopes are that this will pass as time heals his body and so like everything its a day at a time. BUT His blood sugars are staying right where they should be and we are now beginning to taper off the long acting insulin in hopes that his islets will take over and do the job they were intended to do? WE cant thank everyone here enough for the love, support and prayers..We hope to be traveling home by the weekend and be home again by next week. I will keep you all updated as I can, but until then as always,Keeping you and yours in our thoughts and prayers always...Keep smiling..TTFN..Peg..: )
