How can you tell the difference between cea and Keratosis

Pilaris Rubra Faceii? Two years ago I was diagnosed with

cea. At my last visit to my derm I was also diagnosed with

Keratosis Pilaris of the face. I've always had the tiny little

red bumps on my arms (got them from my mom) and the diagnosis was

made about my face because of all the tiny little red

bumps/papules/whatevers on my forehead. Well two major symptoms

of KP Rubra Faceii are redness on the cheeks and skin flushing..

How can I tell if for me the redness is being caused by the

cea or by the Keratosis Pilaris? (Maybe I don't even have

cea at all?)

I guess that might explain why my cea " doesn't follow a

typical pattern " (a.k.a. my nose/central face is not involved,

its just my cheeks) and maybe thats why I haven't had too much

success with traditional treatments? The treatments for cea

and for KP are Very very different... I couldn't even be able to

begin to experiment with the treatments for KP without first

knowing that I don't have cea... all the recommended

treatments that I've seen (Glycolic acid peels,

Microdermabrasion, Lac-Hydrin, topical steroids) are all the last

things in the world anyone with cea would want to touch. How

can I figure out which of these two problems I have?
