Guest guest Posted October 27, 2002 Report Share Posted October 27, 2002 Walt, I, too, had followed a similar diet to what you are eating--mostly all carbs--and I put on all the weight that I had lost with the onset of this disease. What I realized later was that all those carbs (breads, rice, potatoes, etc.) actually cause you pancreas to work harder. You must add " some " fat (almonds, small amounts of p-nut butter or low-fat p-nut butter, etc.) and eat fresh fruits & vegetables. I tolerate salads quite well, fresh fruits (with the exception of oranges), & all vegetables (although I eat lightly of the crociferous because they cause too much gas).
