There is a point at which you can be drinking too much water... but that point is far beyond what any of us could reach in natural behavior. However, I've actually seen it happen in people with extreme psychiatric disorders. The infection control specialist at my workplace recommends 1/2 ounce for each pound of body weight. Thus, a 200 lb. man would drink 10 10 oz. glasses. However, she suggests adding an additional glass for each caffeinated or alcoholic beverage.
