Guest guest
My God guys, this answers so much about myself! I have to get this book...will be going to the library today! Wow...I have felt " drunk " without drinking too many times! I even would slur my speech and not be able to walk straight! No wonder why the kids act " drunk " too! I have even been accused of drinking by my old psychiatrist, when I have not! Yet could not convince the ill informed " idiot " ! Working on forgiveness today! (THAT MISSED THAT I HAD CELIAC DISEASE, and misdiagnosed me as having: anorexia, bulimia, and mental illness, resulting in 14 pills a day! I was a toxic basket case on all these meds...turned into the " living dead " ! I always felt poisoned! I WAS POISONED! Antoinette (SCD entire family day 26) Re: Excessive drinking of water Hi Tara, I found this quote in Jaquelyn McCandless's book, Children With Starving Brains: " Anytime a child acts 'drunk' you can bet they have the 'autobrewery syndrome; -- alchoholic intoxication due to the overgrowth of Candida albicans in the G.I. tract. " I do agree with the others that have suggested that you investigate the diabetes idea if not for the sole purpose of ruling it out. However, it may turn out that it is a drunken yeast / thirsty detoxing issue. If it is, you are in the right place. Good luck! And keep us posted. Guest guest
The book is great, but remember to substitute SCD for GFCFSF as you read it. Guest guest
I am wondering if this book would be any help to me? I made the connection just the other day about the intoxicating effects of sugars on me. I was refined sugar free from 1996 till I got pg in 2003 (I was more concerned w/keeping food down than what was in it in the begining of my pg and never got back to eating sugar free). When I would occasionally have sugar I got the comments from friends that I appeared like I had been drinking. I never had recognized it in myself untill it was pointed out. I personally found that certain " sugars " bothered me more than others. Fruit juice concentrate was pretty good, honey, but I could only tolerate small ammounts of maple syrup or sucunat (although more than white sugar). Fructose was just like white sugar to me, as was corn syrup. I also found that I felt better if I was taking a coloidal mineral suppliment. In fact taking that seemed to help as much as avoiding sugar. Not that the one replaced the other but getting sugar or skipping the minerals both seemed to have an equal impact on my feeling of well being. I did the diet to treat my own adult ADD. I am learing so much here. Patty > My God guys, this answers so much about myself! I have to get this book...will be going to the library today!
