My God guys, this answers so much about myself! I have to get this book...will

be going to the library today! Wow...I have felt " drunk " without drinking too

many times! I even would slur my speech and not be able to walk straight! No

wonder why the kids act " drunk " too! I have even been accused of drinking by my

old psychiatrist, when I have not! Yet could not convince the ill informed

" idiot " ! Working on forgiveness today! (THAT MISSED THAT I HAD CELIAC DISEASE,

and misdiagnosed me as having: anorexia, bulimia, and mental illness, resulting

in 14 pills a day! I was a toxic basket case on all these meds...turned into

the " living dead " ! I always felt poisoned! I WAS POISONED!

Hi Tara,

I found this quote in Jaquelyn McCandless's book, Children With Starving

Brains: " Anytime a child acts 'drunk' you can bet they have the 'autobrewery

syndrome; -- alchoholic intoxication due to the overgrowth of Candida albicans

in the G.I. tract. "

I do agree with the others that have suggested that you investigate the

diabetes idea if not for the sole purpose of ruling it out. However, it may

turn out that it is a drunken yeast / thirsty detoxing issue. If it is, you are

in the right place.

Good luck! And keep us posted.

Listen Antoniette, you can't be bitter, trust me on this one, I spent a long

time being bitter for things that Dr.'s did to me, I only shared a little

bit of the pain that they have put me through, I spent years being bitter,

not understanding why this happened, how I got from point A to point B when

so much of the road I traveled so blindly. Shoulda, coulda, woulda's, they

don't matter in the hear and now and only do one thing, prevent healing. No

matter what your diet looks like, how careful you are about chemicals,

metals, yadda, yadda, yadda...........none of it will work until you let

your bitterness go.

By holding on to the injustices and the pain Dr.'s inflicted on you, you are

only letting them further do it. This happened, it was wrong, accept that

and move on to what you now have to do to make each day left of your life a

little better for you and your family. I wrote this on another forum and I

think it is very true for you and an important perspective to keep in mind

healing takes time, be patient, I have been on scd for two years and still

am sick and have problems, you can't expect overnight change, so don't. Not

to be a downer, but it is a process, not a miracle. I understand, you are

in so much pain you just want a magic bullet to make it stop, but there is

not one. It is all about learning about yourself, how your body reacts,

etc.

Enjoy the ride, it's a long, never ending journey

The book is great, but remember to substitute SCD for GFCFSF as you read it.
