coming back to SCD

Hi all, we added back some rice, corn and all fruits and veggies a couple of

months ago because my son was doing so well. Things have gone down hill fast

behaviorally but it has been amidst a bunch of stress too.

I put him back on SCD stage 2 foods for now until I can get things

straightened out and a game plan for starting the diet again. I would love

some help decided what foods to start him on. I know that the intro diet is

the best but I am thinking that he may have some problems with eggs and

bananas.

His obvious symptoms are extreme emotionally charged mood shifts with red

cheeks and red ears (seemingly out of no where). His bowel movements are

mushy and brown. During our 5 months on SCD (hovering around Stage 2/3), he

had maybe 1-2 formed bowel movements but his behavior and cognitive progress

was impressive.

Does anyone have any light to shed? I am assuming that I should put him on

the intro for a few days even though he doesn't have diarrhea? Does his red

cheeks/ears indicated a phenol intolerance or is it yeast? If so, are there

any foods in the intro that I should avoid? Does the mushy poop indicate

that he isn't tolerating something? He also has a nice rash on his bum (he

is pee potty trained and wears underwear)

As a side note, my daughter has the same style of BM and she is NT. I follow

the same diet for her (but not as strictly). Sometimes I wonder if mushy bms

are just what my children produce no matter what I do, lol.

Please shed some light! THANKS

Kelli

Since you are continuing to have mushy stools i would suggest the

intro for 2-3 days and then gradually add in some foods

It is hard to tell now if it is a phenol problem or something else

right now. If you start with the intro and slowly add foods in

their reactions will give a clearer picture which is the problem.

If unsure what it points to let us know their reactions and we'll

help figure it out.
