Guest guest
Sheri, I have United Healthcare and was approved the first time I called for precertification. Contact them yourself and ask them for your precertification number. Don't sound like you are asking for a favor, rather, you are doing them a favor in the long run. Practice before you get on the telephone and be prepared to dig deep into your family history (even if you don't have any comorbidities yet). It should sound something like: " I am at high risk for hbp, diabetes, gout, respiratory problems, stroke, heart attack, and the list goes on. " Keep a long list of " problems " you may or are already having and DO NOT sound desperate. They like for you to beg. Hope this helps. in Durham soon to move to Chapel Hill
