Dear Dr. R,

Thank you for letting us know how things went for you at the conference. I had

really hoped that they would be more open minded, but figured they probably

wouldn't, knowing the hard-headed stubborn resistance many doctors have to new

procedures and ideas.

I'm sure you were somewhat prepared for the kind of response you got, but I

know that even when you are prepared, that kind of treatment can (at the least)

dampen your spirits. But be of good cheer! You are a pioneer, you are an

educator of your peers, and you are an angel of hope and help and life for your

patients!!!

I've told you before how excited my family doctor is about the MGB, and that he

wants to come to NC when I have it. He thinks it is wonderful that you have

all the information on your web site, and your web site is what led me to you

and the MGB. I think very few of us would have known about this life saving

procedure without the web site. I really think it is absolute foolishness for

them to object to your web site!!!

I have researched WLS for quite a while now, and felt as so many others did

when we found the web site - that (finally) here was by far and by all measure

the best choice for us. After all my study and research, and talking with many

post-ops, I know that the MGB is for me!

I look forward to having the surgery and starting a new and wonderful part of

my life. I look forward to many things, but probably most of all I look

forward to being able to do so many things with my 6 children that I can't do

now (play, dance, go fun places, etc., etc.). My husband and I even want to

adopt more children. The MGB will change my family's life, as well as mine,

for the better.

So thank you for all you do. I look forward to meeting you. Have a great

vacation. If my insurance cooperates, I should be seeing you soon after you

return!
