Hi Gang:

My surgery was May 31. On day 6 when I had my staples out at clinic I had lost

14 pounds.

I haven't weighed myself since..a personal choice because I don't want to keep

weighing and

be elated/disappointed. In the past my body did not always cooperate by showing

weight

loss at the day and time I needed it to. I'd go to WW and have lost nothing and

two days

later have lost 5 pounds..so for the two days before it showed up I'd be down in

the dumps.

Then of course there were the " knowing " looks from the person weighing me at

WW...as

well as all the people at all the other scales on the fruitless journey I was on

for many, many

years.

But I do KNOW I am melting now!

I can see it in the mirror. I can feel and see it in my clothes. I am down at

least a size. I

started in a size 28. This morning my shorts are a 24 and they fit. This feels

SO good!

I have never been a normal weight person in all my 57 years...this is so

exciting.

No more edema in my legs and feet

No more foot pain

No more arthritis medication for constant unrelenting pain in my feet, ankles

and knees

No more knee pain

I go down steps like a normal person; not one at a time.

I am no longer out of breath with the least little exertion.

No more blood pressure medication

The downside?

I have little energy most days during the early part of the day.(I do have

energy though later in

the day)...a friend on the board suggested I need more potassium..gonna go that

route today.

I am never hungry, can eat very little (if that's a downside) and at times I

feel yucky in the

tummy.

Would I do it again? You betcha..and I'm only a little more than three weeks

post op. If you,

like me, have never been a normal sized person, you are in for a thrilling ride!
