Guest guest
First, thank you to the many who responded to my question about yogurt and probiotics. I did not know that you needed to start the yogurt so slowly...I had started off with 1/2 cup and my daughter seemed easily upset, so that is probably on account of the die-off. She's fine now. Another question...many of our children have high copper and my daughter does also, as I learned recently from a test. (she is SCD for 9 months). I looked up the foods high in copper...many nuts, coconut (I'm not sure if this includes coconut oil which I use a lot in cooking), commercially processed dried fruit ( my daughter eats lots of raisins and dried fruit for snacks, and I had been giving her prunes fairly regularly to keep her regular). These are all foods that my daughter consumes regularly as a part of her SCD diet. Obviously I need to decrease her levels of these foods but can anyone else with high copper comment on how they lowered their copper levels? ~Jill
