I think I remember on the gfcfdiet.com website that they said some raisins

have a dusting of white flour on them in order to keep the raisins separated

in the packaging process. You can check there in order to see which raisins

don't have gluten. I'm sorry for you and your child. It is upsetting when

you can't trust labeling as a consumer.

Subject: Gluten in the Raisins?

This makes since, everytime our 21 month old daughter eats just the

littlest bit of gluten she has this reaction. ONe of her doctors

called this gluten allergy, and not the typical Celiac Reaction. I She

also had red spots (DH), and that night had night

terrors/seizers....it all makes since that she would be so sick

again. Her diarrhea is back and she has been a mess. I even have

diarrhea....my son does not because he didn't like rasins! What

doesn't have gluten in it? My God, we can't even trust the darn

raisins!

To get her back on track you could redo the intro for a day or two

to clear out her system. It is a good idea to wait to introduce

raisins (if you are concerned about possible gluten conatamination

you may want to try a health food store/organic) until much further

in the diet (months). Dried fruit, and raisins in particular, are

very difficult to digest (water is removed, concentrated natural

sugars, very fibrous etc.)
