Guest guest
Oh no!!! I am crying with you. The insurance companies are just not fair. You know what I think. I think we should band together start up an insurance company that offers WLS and watch the people leave all the other insurance companies behind. If this was alcohol or drug addiction they would be doing back flips to help. These people think that we can JUST LOSE THE WEIGHT that is a big crock of you know what. Food is an addiction for me, it is something I cannot live without. I am addicted to something that my body has to have. The thing is that I give my body too much and the weight just pours on. Why oh Why do these insurance companies have to torture those of us who NEED this surgery. In some cases it is a matter of life and death. I am here for you if you just want to talk. I have insurance approval but many of my friends on this list do not and that effects me. Sending GREAT BIG HUGS ((((((((((((((((((((((((((((((((((((((HUG))))))))))))))))))))))))))))))))))))) ))) Lara

Guest guest
Good Luck to you Leigh. I will be praying that something goes through for you. I am very glad you got to do the dance with Dr. R. Be well and maybe if we can find someone on this site that knows something about insurance then maybe with contributions from those willing we can start a company and get these people the surgery needed. Guest guest
, I am so sorry about the exclusion. I dont know if anyone has ever fought an exclusion as specific as that and won. It would be worth finding out. DO you have another insurance policy.....it sounded like you do in the last letter? I will pray that they will be a lot more merciful than BC BS. If not...there are STILL other options. Borrow the money. 15 mos to pay it off is NOT an eternity Do what I am doing....and plug away at life anyway Ihave NO choice...I have anemia. Today I think if I ever had any surgery that took any more micronutrients from my body I would NEVER wake up....I am SOOOOOO tired. I have resigned myself that is is " meant to be " sometimes for me NOT to have surgery. That does not mean I am going to lay down and quit fighting for my health. I have options.Change insurance for one....Which is in the works. So many paths to choose...sometimes we get the one that leads us where WE want to go.....sometimes God chooses for us because he knows where he wants us to go. Love and Peace......Remember this....this is the only thing that comforts me.......Your children love you and need you....fat or slim.Look in to their faces and find the innocent joy of living and you will be able to carry on...until God leads you in the direction he wants. Guest guest
> , Thank you for responding to me. I feel so lost. My children are the main reason I want this. My daughters are 12 and 8. My 12 year old understands why Mommy can't play outside with her but my 8 year old doesn't. My son is 1 and when he's old enough I want to be able to do things with him outdoors. It breaks my heart to watch the kids and my husband outside and not be able to join them for walks or playing ball. To answer your questions: > DO you have another insurance policy.....it sounded like > you do in the last letter? > > No, I just started full time where I work and I am waiting on the HR department to get me a copy of the policy before I enroll in it. There is always that chance of a complication, and complications can be very costly with no insurance, especially if you have little ones to worry about. > I can only imagine how disappointed you are, I will be praying that something will open up for you!! Guest guest
OOOOOOOOOHHH Lara!!!! I had the exact same thought about starting our own company just last week. I paid for my surgery and I am in the process of filing complaints with the Department of Insurance here in KY to see what I can get out of it. I've also been told by people who work at insurance companies to go ahead and submit for reimbursement for the surgery - because there is always a relatively good chance that someone will screw up and pay it!!! Those people don't know what each other is doing and they have such a HUGE volume of work that things get screwed up all of the time. So I am trying both avenues for reimbursement - the screw up and the complaint - We'll see what happens!!!! Leigh in KY MGB 05/12/2000 -23 so far > Oh no!!! I am crying with you. Guest guest
, I have BCBS of Oklahoma and it will not cover obesity either. HOWEVER, the DO cover MORBID OBESITY. You may want to try going that route. a wrote: > > I am so upset. I need to be getting ready for my children's ballgames and all I can do is sit here and cry and ask " WHY!
